About Seoulpin

How we work

What Seoulpin is

Seoulpin is an independent English-language guide to Seoul for visitors and residents. Articles are written to help readers decide. Every article lists the primary sources behind its facts, with the date we checked each one.

How articles are made

Articles are drafted with AI assistance from primary sources and reviewed by the editor, Steve OH, before publishing. When we update an article after visiting in person, we say so and add the date.

Editor

Steve OH edits Seoulpin. Steve runs Standardpin, a Seoul-based web studio that also builds websites for clinics; that work has no effect on whether or how any clinic appears here. Articles are drafted with AI assistance from the sources listed and reviewed by Steve before publishing.

Corrections

Email editor@seoulpin.com about articles, orlistings@seoulpin.com about clinic listings. We correct the page and note the date.

Advertising and sponsorship

Some travel articles contain affiliate links, labelled at the start of the article and listed in a separate box at the end. If you buy through them, we earn a commission and you pay nothing extra. We decide what to suggest before adding any link, and clinic pages never carry affiliate links. Seoulpin may also carry advertising and clearly labelled sponsored content in the future. It will never be mixed with editorial content. We do not accept payment from clinics or patient-referral agencies.

Ownership and interests

Seoulpin is run by Standardpin, a Seoul-based web studio that also builds websites for clinics. Whether a clinic works with Standardpin has no effect on whether or how it is listed.

Clinic listings

Seoulpin is an independent list of clinics in Seoul that appear in Korea's public list of medical institutions registered to attract foreign patients. Clinics do not pay to be listed, and every clinic in scope is shown in the same format. We do not rank, rate or recommend clinics, and we do not take bookings. Clinics can ask us to correct or remove their listing at listings@seoulpin.com; we record each request and when we acted on it.

Which clinics are listed

Every medical institution in Seoul that appears in the KHIDI list, of every type, 2,593 in all. We match each KHIDI entry to HIRA records by name and phone number. The 2,302 entries we matched with confidence have their own page with district, address and main phone number. For the other 291 we show only the name, type and region (Seoul) from the KHIDI list.

Data sources

Limits

  • Entries we could not match to HIRA records show no district, address or phone number.
  • Phone numbers starting with 15xx, 16xx, 18xx or 0507 cannot be called from outside Korea.
  • Details can change; check with the clinic before you visit.

Corrections and removals

Clinics can email listings@seoulpin.com to correct or remove a listing. We act on removal requests and record when each request arrived and when we acted on it.
