From Incheon Airport, the AREX express train reaches Seoul Station in 43 minutes from Terminal 1 (51 from Terminal 2) for ₩13,000. The AREX all-stop train takes 59 minutes (66 from T2) and costs ₩4,750 with a T-money card (₩5,350 from T2), stopping at Hongik University and Gongdeok on the way. Airport limousine buses cost ₩17,000–18,000 and take about 60 to 90 minutes to hotel districts including Myeong-dong, Gangnam, COEX and Jamsil. A standard taxi runs on the meter from ₩4,800 plus ₩2,000–3,200 in tolls and takes about 80 to 90 minutes to Myeong-dong; an International Taxi charges a flat ₩70,000–95,000. The last express leaves T1 at 22:48, and after midnight only four night buses and the taxi rank are left.

Which terminal am I arriving at?

The airport lists Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Seoul, Air Busan and Delta at Terminal 2; Jeju Air, Trinity Airways, Eastar Jet, Air Premia, Parata Air and most other foreign airlines at Terminal 1. Codeshares can land you at the other one, so read the terminal off your e-ticket. The two terminals are not across the hall from each other. T2 is the end of the line: trains and buses start there, which is why T2 times below come a few minutes earlier.

How do I take the AREX train to Seoul?

Buy a ticket or tap a T-money card on B1 of the Transportation Center at either terminal, where both AREX trains leave. At T1, follow the yellow signs.

The express runs nonstop to Seoul Station for ₩13,000, or ₩9,500 for children 6 to 12. Seats are assigned and you need a ticket before boarding: from the B1 counter or machines, or online and in the AREX app up to two months ahead. Foreign Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Diners, Amex and UnionPay cards work.

It is not frequent: 26 departures a day, 25 to 65 minutes apart. The first leaves T2 at 05:16 and T1 at 05:24; the last leaves T2 at 22:40 and T1 at 22:48.

The all-stop train calls at every station, including Gimpo Airport, Hongik University, Gongdeok and Seoul Station, with eight transfers to the subway. With a T-money card, T1 to Seoul Station is ₩4,750 and to Hongik University ₩4,650; from T2, ₩5,350 and ₩5,250. A single-use card costs ₩100 more plus a ₩500 deposit you get back at the other end. T-money is sold at convenience stores and topped up at station machines.

The first trains leave T2 at 05:08 and T1 at 05:14. The last one to reach Seoul Station leaves T2 at 23:32 and T1 at 23:38. The 23:50 from T2 (23:56 from T1) terminates at Digital Media City, not Seoul Station.

Which train? If you’re staying in Hongdae, Gongdeok or anywhere near the line, take the all-stop. At around ₩5,000 with no traffic, it is the best deal in the city. Take the express if Seoul Station is your stop or your KTX connection: for about ₩8,000 more you save 16 minutes and get a guaranteed seat. Either way, the line ends at Seoul Station.

Which limousine bus goes to Myeong-dong, Seoul Station or Gongdeok?

Take the 6001 or 6015 from Airport Limousine Co., or the 6701 or 6702 from Korea Airport Limousine. These “limousines” are coaches with luggage holds that stop at the hotel districts. Airport Limousine Co. charges ₩17,000 (₩12,000 for children); Korea Airport Limousine charges ₩18,000 (₩12,000 for children). The airport’s bus search gives these stops and daytime hours, first to last bus:

  • 6001 (Seoul Station, Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun): T1 stop 5, 05:29–23:09; T2 stop 29, 05:39–22:49.
  • 6015 (Gongdeok, Myeong-dong): T1 stop 5, 05:44–23:19; T2 stop 28, 05:24–22:59.
  • 6701 (Gongdeok, Gwanghwamun, City Hall, Myeong-dong): T1 stop 3, 05:35–22:25; T2 stop 18, 05:15–22:05.
  • 6702 (Seoul Station, Namsan, Dongdaemun): T1 stop 3, 06:05–23:05; T2 stop 18, 05:45–22:45.

Where to buy tickets. At T1, ticket booths are inside next to exits 4 and 9 and outside near exits 4, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 13, and Seoul buses leave from the arrivals-floor curb. At T2, tickets and buses are on B1 of the Transportation Center.

Paying is where people get stuck. Leaving the airport, ticket holders board first. At T1, Airport Limousine’s 6001, 6002 and 6015 are first come, first served, with cash, a transit card or a ticket. At T2, every Airport Limousine route needs a paper ticket first. Airport Limousine takes no card payments on board and doesn’t accept the Climate Card or Discover Seoul Pass. Korea Airport Limousine takes card or T-money taps, but at the airport it sells tickets at booths and machines first.

Luggage. Airport Limousine allows two pieces per passenger, each under 28 inches and 20 kg; carry-ons and backpacks count, and each extra piece costs ₩8,000.

Take it if your hotel is near a stop and you have two big bags: you sit down once and get off near the door. If you have a deadline, take the train. Airport Limousine says its times shift with road, traffic and weather.

How do I get to Gangnam, COEX or Jamsil?

By day, take one of five limousine routes that cross to the south side of the river for ₩17,000–18,000; the first leave the airport between 05:20 and 06:20 and the last between 22:35 and 23:30. The airport’s bus search lists these stops and hours:

  • 6009 (Seoul Airport Limousine; Sinsa, Nonhyeon, Gangnam Station, Yangjae, Dogok, Daechi): T1 stop 4, 05:40–23:12; T2 stop 15, 05:20–22:52. The busiest of the five, with 57 departures a day.
  • 6020 (Seoul Airport Limousine; Express Bus Terminal, Gangnam Station, Yeoksam): T1 stop 4, 06:15–23:02; T2 stop 16, 05:55–22:42.
  • 6006 (Seoul Airport Limousine; Apgujeong, COEX and Samseong Station, Jamsil Sports Complex, Jamsilsaenae): T1 stop 4, 06:20–23:10; T2 stop 14, 06:00–22:50.
  • 6703 (Korea Airport Limousine; Seorae Village, Seonjeongneung, Bongeunsa Station and COEX, Samseong Station, Seolleung, Yeoksam): T1 stop 3, 06:15–22:55; T2 stop 19, 05:55–22:35. Every 45 to 60 minutes, ₩18,000.
  • 6103 (City Airport Limousine; nonstop to Samseong Station and the COEX City Air Terminal): T1 stop 7, 06:00–23:30; T2 stop 21, 05:40–23:10. ₩18,000 (₩12,000 for children), about 65 minutes from T1 and 85 from T2 by the operator’s estimate.

Seoul Airport Limousine charges ₩17,000 in cash or by transit card (₩11,000 for children). Its T1 booths are inside next to exits 4 and 9 (06:00–22:00) and outside exits 4, 8 and 11 (05:40–22:00); at T2, buy at the B1 Transportation Center.

By train, take the AREX all-stop to Gimpo Airport, 38 minutes from T1 and 44 from T2 by the city’s timing, then change to Line 9 inside the station without passing through the gates again. Line 9 express trains link Gimpo Airport and the Gangnam area in about 30 minutes. The AREX fare to Gimpo Airport is ₩4,350 from T1 and ₩4,950 from T2 with T-money; the subway charges by total distance, so Line 9 adds to that when you tap out. Take the train if your hotel is near a Line 9 station; take the bus if you have big bags and a stop near the door.

After the last buses, the night buses N6000 (to Gangnam Express Bus Terminal) and N6703 (to COEX and Jamsil) cover this side of the city.

What if I land after the last train?

Take one of four night buses or a taxi from the rank: after 22:48 the express is done, and after 23:38 so is the last all-stop to Seoul Station. Times are departures from T1; each bus leaves T2 20 minutes earlier. Buy tickets at the booths or kiosks.

  • N6000, via Songjeong and Yeomchang stations to Gangnam Express Bus Terminal: 00:10, 00:50, 01:30, 02:10, 03:40, 04:20. ₩17,000.

  • N6701, via Mapo Station, Seoul Station and Euljiro to Dongdaemun Design Plaza: 23:50, 00:40, 01:40, 03:45, 04:40. ₩18,000, also in the Tmoney GO app.

If your stop is on one of these, take the bus. If not, take a taxi from the rank and expect the 40% surcharge until 02:00.
