K-Drama Filming Locations in Seoul You Can Reach by Subway
Where Itaewon Class, Lovely Runner, Reborn Rich, Our Beloved Summer, Marry My Husband and a dozen more series filmed in Seoul, with the nearest station, hours and fee for each place, grouped into day plans.
Most of Seoul’s best-known K-drama filming locations are free public places you can reach by subway: Namsan Park and the Noksapyeong Overpass for Itaewon Class, a Bukchon well and a footbridge over Seongbukcheon for Lovely Runner, Baek In-je House for Reborn Rich, Gamgodang-gil for Our Beloved Summer, and Cheonggyecheon for Marry My Husband. Seoul’s city government marks many of them with SOUL SPOT plaques, which play an audio guide in English, Japanese, Chinese or Korean when you scan the QR code. The only paid entry on the list is the N Seoul Tower observatory, seen in My Love from the Star, at ₩29,000 for an adult. “Yes” means the place is on the SOUL SPOT list or Visit Seoul’s SOUL SPOT page. Search the Korean names in Naver Map to get walking directions; English names often fail. Pay for the subway with a T-money card.
What is a SOUL SPOT?
A SOUL SPOT is a filming location chosen by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and marked with a clapperboard-style logo. Each spot has a film-style photo frame or plaque; some are clapperboard-shaped plaques on a wall, others free-standing frames. Scan the QR code and an AI docent tells the story of the scene in Korean, English, Japanese or Chinese. The Korean-language list counts 40 spots across dramas, films and K-pop videos; the English list shows 20 of them with the scene each one appeared in. You need no ticket or app: your phone’s camera reads the QR code.
Where were the Itaewon Class scenes filmed?
The two places fans look for are Baekbeom Square in Namsan Park and the Noksapyeong Overpass, and both are free and open at any hour.
Baekbeom Square (백범광장), Namsan Park. Park Saeroyi and Jo Yi-seo confess and share their first kiss on the road up to this square (SOUL SPOT, VISITKOREA); VISITKOREA places the kiss between the Namsan Park entrance on the Sungnyemun side and the square. It is free and open 24 hours at 49-4 Toegye-ro 8-gil, Jung-gu, about 500 m from Hoehyeon Station Exit 4 on Line 4 (Visit Seoul). N Seoul Tower rises above it, and the fortress wall path from the square leads up to the tower.
Noksapyeong Overpass (녹사평 육교). This is the pedestrian bridge where Saeroyi and Yi-seo meet and where he often stands lost in thought. Visit Seoul gives the address as 195 Noksapyeong-daero, Yongsan-gu, across the crosswalk from Exit 3 of Noksapyeong Station on Line 6. Looking down Noksapyeong-daero you see Namsan and N Seoul Tower at the end of the road. SOUL SPOT says visitors come especially at sunset and at night, and that the filming location of Danbam, Saeroyi’s bar, is just past the overpass on the way to Itaewon Station.
How much is N Seoul Tower, the My Love from the Star location?
The observatory costs ₩29,000 for adults aged 13 and over and ₩23,000 for children aged 3 to 12 and seniors aged 65 and over, according to the tower’s fee table. Children under 36 months enter free, one per caretaker. VISITKOREA names the tower as a filming location of My Love from the Star and Boys Over Flowers, and Visit Seoul describes scenes between Do Min-joon and Chun Song-yi there.
The observatory opens 10:00 to 22:30 on weekdays and 10:00 to 23:00 on weekends and public holidays, stops admitting new visitors 30 minutes before closing, and is open every day of the year. The address is 105 Namsangongwon-gil, Yongsan-gu. To get up, take bus 01 (Namsan Circular) from Exit 2 of Chungmuro Station or Exit 6 of Dongdaemun Station to the “Namsan Seoul Tower” stop (Visit Seoul), or the Namsan Cable Car (₩15,000 return for adults); our Myeongdong guide explains how to reach it from Myeongdong Station.
Which K-drama locations are in Bukchon?
Four filming places sit within a walk of Anguk Station on Line 3: Baek In-je House (Reborn Rich), Bokjeong Well (Lovely Runner), Gamgodang-gil (Our Beloved Summer) and Choong Ang High School. Bukchon is a residential area with a tourist curfew in its Red Zone, so read our Bukchon visiting hours guide before you plan an evening here.
Baek In-je House (백인제가옥). In Reborn Rich, Jin Do-joon meets Soonyang Group chairman Jin Yang-cheol here as the majority shareholder of Miracle Investment (VISITKOREA); it is also a SOUL SPOT. The Seoul Museum of History, which runs the house, opens it 9:00 to 18:00 (last admission 17:30), free, and closes on Mondays (unless a Monday is a public holiday) and January 1. Without a guide you may walk the grounds only; the rooms open to guided tours. Tours in other languages start at 16:00: Japanese on Wednesdays, Chinese on Thursdays and English on Fridays, and you can book one or join at the house. The address is 16 Bukchon-ro 7-gil, Jongno-gu, about 450 m from Anguk Station Exit 2 (Visit Seoul). Our recommendation: plan Bukchon for a Friday if you want to see the rooms.
Bokjeong Well (복정우물). In Lovely Runner, Sol disguises herself as a monk here to scare Seon-jae and keep him from getting hurt. The well once served only the royal court. It is near Bukchon’s Red Zone, where sightseeing is banned from 17:00 to 10:00, and SOUL SPOT asks visitors to check those hours before they go. It sits in a side alley off Samcheong-dong-gil, near 4 Samcheong-ro 4-gil, where Jongno-gu restored it as a resting spot in 2011 (Asia Economy).
Gamgodang-gil (감고당길). Our Beloved Summer filmed its last episode and a flashback of Choi Ung and Kook Yeon-soo drunk on this road, which runs about 440 m from the Seoul Museum of Craft Art (the former Poongmoon Girls’ High School site) to Jeongdok Library (VISITKOREA). The alley where Yeon-soo carries Ung on her back is Yunboseon-gil, in the middle of Gamgodang-gil. Visit Seoul says to reach it by the alley between the Seoul Museum of Craft Art and Songhyeon Neighborhood Park.
Choong Ang High School (중앙고등학교). Four K-dramas filmed at this school: Our Beloved Summer, Winter Sonata, Goblin and True Beauty. The same VISITKOREA page lists it as the school Ung and Yeon-soo attended, Visit Seoul notes Winter Sonata, VISITKOREA’s Our Beloved Summer article (Korean-language page) adds Goblin, and a Korea Tourism Organization article republished by Stars and Stripes Korea says it played Sebom High School in True Beauty. It is a working school at 164 Changdeokgung-gil, about 700 m from Anguk Station Exit 3. VISITKOREA lists it as open to the public only at weekends, but that schedule is undated and a working school can close its gates to outsiders. Our recommendation: count on seeing it from the main gate, and treat a walk on the grounds as a bonus if the gate is open.
Where is the Lovely Runner time-slip bridge?
The bridge is Yeouldari (여울다리), a small arched wooden footbridge on Seongbukcheon Stream where Sol picks up the watch, presses its button and travels back in time (SOUL SPOT). Korea JoongAng Daily (news) says Seongbukcheon is about five minutes on foot from Sungshin Women’s University Station on Line 4. Lovely Runner’s other Seoul location, Bokjeong Well, is in Bukchon (see above). The Seongbuk-gu Office describes the stream path from Hansung University Station toward Sungshin Women’s University as a cherry blossom walk in spring.
Naksan Park (낙산공원) (Doona!, KPop Demon Hunters). Doona! filmed the scene in which Doo-na teaches Won-jun how to make Jin-ju’s heart flutter here, and SOUL SPOT says the 2007 Naksan Public Art Project filled the hillside village around the park with paintings. VISITKOREA adds that the park’s fortress walls are the backdrop for Rumi and Jinu’s conversation in KPop Demon Hunters. The park is free and open 24 hours at 41 Naksan-gil, Jongno-gu, about 500 m from Hyehwa Station Exit 2 on Line 4, and its trail follows the Seoul City Wall for about 2 km from Hyehwamun to Heunginjimun (Visit Seoul). Visit Seoul notes that Joseon-era nobles came here for the sunset, so it suits the end of a day.
Where were Marry My Husband, Vincenzo and Squid Game 2 filmed downtown?
Marry My Husband filmed at Cheonggye Plaza and along Cheonggyecheon, Vincenzo on the bridge in front of Sewoon Shopping Center, and Squid Game Season 2 in Jonggak Station, all free and within a short walk of each other; Hyoja-ro, by Gyeongbokgung, is a short subway ride away.
Cheonggye Plaza (청계광장) and Gwangtonggyo (광통교), Marry My Husband. Visit Seoul names Cheonggye Plaza and Cheonggyecheon Stream as Marry My Husband locations, and a citizen-reporter piece on the city’s news site shows the SOUL SPOT plaque at Gwangtonggyo Bridge. The stream promenade is free and open 24 hours, though access can be restricted in rain; the listed address is 37 Mugyo-ro, Jongno-gu, about 400 m from City Hall Station Exit 4. Gwangtonggyo is the first stop after the plaza on the city’s Cheonggyecheon walking route.
Sewoon Shopping Center (세운상가), Vincenzo. Visit Seoul lists the bridge over Cheonggyecheon in front of Sewoon Shopping Center as a Vincenzo location, along with DDP. Sewoon Shopping Center is at 159 Cheonggyecheon-ro, about 300 m from Exit 12 of Jongno 3-ga Station (Lines 1, 3, 5), and its public sky-deck walkway crosses the stream.
Jonggak Station (종각역), Squid Game Season 2. Gi-hun wanders this Line 1 station looking for the ddakji man (SOUL SPOT). It connects to the Jonggak underground shopping centre; see Seoul’s underground shopping malls.
Hyoja-ro (효자로), When Life Gives You Tangerines. Ae-soon and Geum-myeong argue here on their way to have hanbok fitted for a wedding (SOUL SPOT). The road runs along the west wall of Gyeongbokgung, where streetcars once ran; a citizen-reporter piece on the city’s autumn foliage roads describes it as running from Gyeongbokgung Station to the Hyoja-dong junction, lined with ginkgo trees that turn yellow in autumn. To pair it with the palace, see Gyeongbokgung in hanbok.
Nearby, SOUL SPOT lists Jeongdong-gil for the final scene of Gyeongseong Creature Season 2, and Visit Seoul lists the Deoksugung Stonewall Walkway for Reborn Rich and for a stroll in My Love from the Star. Our Deoksugung and Jeongdong walk covers that route.
Which K-drama filming locations are by the Han River?
Two riverside parks, Yeouido Hangang and Mangwon Hangang, plus Yeouido Park and the Gyeongui Line Forest Park are filming locations, all free.
- Yeouido Hangang Park (여의도한강공원). Min-ju, Si-heon and In-gyu eat cup noodles by the river in A Time Called You (SOUL SPOT), and Si-mok jogs here late at night in Stranger (VISITKOREA). The park is at 330 Yeouidong-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, about 200 m from Exit 3 of Yeouinaru Station on Line 5 (Visit Seoul).
- Yeouido Park (여의도공원). Son Ju-a remembers her former boyfriend Hong Si-jun here in Melo Movie (SOUL SPOT). Visit Seoul gives 68 Yeouigongwon-ro, about 650 m from Exit 3 of Yeouido Station (Lines 5, 9).
- Mangwon Hangang Park (망원한강공원). Young-woo and Jun-ho’s plogging date in Extraordinary Attorney Woo was filmed here, according to VISITKOREA, which also points to Seoul Battleship Park nearby. Visit Seoul gives 467 Maponaru-gil, Mapo-gu, 1.5 km from Exit 2 of Mangwon Station on Line 6.
- Gyeongui Line Forest Park (경의선숲길). Daily Dose of Sunshine filmed a staff dinner scene in this 6.3 km park (SOUL SPOT), some sections of which keep recreated rails and crossings from the old Yongsan Line. Its longest stretch is Yeontral Park in Yeonnam-dong; Visit Seoul gives Exit 3 of Hongik University Station, about 450 m away, as the way in.
Where else in Seoul are K-dramas filmed?
Seokchon Lake (석촌호수), Crash Course in Romance. Visit Seoul lists the lake, known for its spring cherry blossoms, as a Crash Course in Romance location. Seokchon Lake Park is free and open 24 hours at 136 Samhaksa-ro, Songpa-gu, about 300 m from Exit 2 of Jamsil Station (Lines 2, 8); a lap of both halves of the 2.5 km lake takes 30 to 40 minutes.
Baekbin Railroad Crossing (백빈건널목), My Mister. Visit Seoul calls it a primary location of My Mister, where the two leads often meet and comfort each other. It is at 23-15 Hangang-daero 7-gil, Yongsan-gu, about 700 m from Exit 1 of Yongsan Station, and more than 300 trains a day pass through it. It is a working crossing, not a set: take photos from the pavement and wait behind the barrier when it is down.
How do you see Seoul’s K-drama locations in three days?
Our recommendation, for someone with three days:
- Itaewon Class and Namsan: Baekbeom Square from Hoehyeon Exit 4 in the afternoon. If you want the observatory, follow the wall path up to N Seoul Tower and take bus 01 back down to Chungmuro. Then ride Line 4 from Hoehyeon or Chungmuro to Samgakji and change to Line 6 for Noksapyeong, reaching the overpass around sunset or after dark.
- Bukchon, Seongbukcheon and Naksan (best on a Friday): Bokjeong Well and Gamgodang-gil from 10:00; Seongbukcheon’s Yeouldari bridge around midday (Sungshin Women’s Univ. Station, Line 4); back to Anguk for Baek In-je House’s 16:00 English tour; Naksan Park for sunset or after dark, since it is open 24 hours. VISITKOREA lists Choong Ang High School as open to the public only at weekends, so it fits this day only if you go on a Saturday or Sunday and skip the house tour.
- Downtown and the river: Cheonggye Plaza, Gwangtonggyo, Sewoon and Jonggak Station on foot, Hyoja-ro, then Line 5 from Gwanghwamun to Yeouido for the two Yeouido parks in the evening; Yeouinaru and Yeouido stations are both on Line 5. Keep Mangwon Hangang Park and the Gyeongui Line Forest Park for a separate Hongdae-side afternoon.
Bukchon, Naksan’s hillside village and Choong Ang High School are places where people live or study, so keep your voice down there. If you also want K-pop stops on the same trip, see where to buy official K-pop merch in Seoul.
